Instructions

  • Wash the mutton thoroughly with water 2-3 times and drain the water completely. Add the roasted gram to the mixer and grind it to fine powder and keep it aside. Add fennel seeds, cinnamon sticks, black pepper, cloves, cardamom to the mixer and grind it well. Ground powder is ready. Now add garlic cloves, ginger, green chillies, grated coconut, cashew nuts, poppy seeds to the mixer and grind it well along with the powder. Ground masala is ready, keep it aside. Heat 2 tsp of oil to a pan, add the washed minced meat and give a good stir. Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt to the keema. The minced mutton will start to release water, let the mutton cook in the same water. Stir in between to avoid any burning of food. The water will evaporate and the minced meat would have cooked. Now switch off the stove. Allow the minced meat to cool down completely. Add the cooked minced meat to the mixer jar and grind it really well. Now add the ground masala paste to the ground meat and grind well again. Transfer the ground meat to a bowl. Add 3-4 tbsp of roasted gram powder to the ground meat. Now add 1 small finely chopped onion, curry leaves to the bowl. Mix everything really well until well combined. Make sure there is no moisture left, if there is moisture after mixing the meat then add little more of roasted gram powder and mix well. Adjust the salt level. Make small balls and keep it ready for frying. Heat oil in a kadai to fry the meat balls.When the oil is hot enough add the meat balls slowly to the oil. Fry them to golden brown color evenly on all sides and drain them out. Serve hot with ketchup.
