Instructions

  • Take a bowl add broken rice, salt and water to soak overnight. Soak black gram dal for 1 hour and make a thick paste of it . To the rice add black gram dal paste and keep it aside(overnight) Heat oil in pan add mustard seeds, bengal gram, black gram, cashew nuts-finely chopped. Then add green chilies, dry red chilies, cumin seeds, asafoetida and now add tempering to it. Add this mixture to the idly batter and also add soda to it. Now add grated carrot, grated ginger, chopped coriander,curry leaves and mix it thoroughly. Place this mixture in the idly stand and steam it like idly’s. Serve hot.
