Prawns Crispy

  • 250 grams tiger prawns with its tail
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • Turmeric powder
  • Chilli powder (as required)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 2 tsp chilli flakes
  • Half tsp pepper powder
  • 1 tsp melted butter (marination)
  • 1 tbsp maida
  • 2 tbsp cornflour
  • Bread-crumbs
  • An egg
  • Oil for deep-frying

Instructions

  • First wash the prawns, add lime juice, salt and ginger-garlic paste. Coat it well with the prawns. Keep it aside for 15 minutes.
  • Then strain the prawns over a strainer then add chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder and some chilli flakes. Again coat them with the prawns.
  • Now take another bowl add maida, cornflour, some salt and pepper powder. Mix everything well and keep this dry mixture aside.
  • In another bowl, add egg, add in some salt, beat it and keep it aside too. In another plate pour the bread crumbs.
  • Now take a prawn, coat it with dried flour mixture prepared in step 3.
  • Now dip it into the egg mixture.
  • Then again coat it with the bread-crumbs.
  • Repeat the same process with the rest of the prawns.
  • Now heat a deep pan; add enough oil for deep-frying. Once the oil gets hot, one by one, gently put in the prawns. Put 5 at a time, not more than that...
  • Repeat the same with the rest of the batches and keep the fried prawns over a strainer.
  • Serve it hot and crispy with some garlic mayo dip or with the sauce of your choice.
