  • 1/2 cup gram flour
  • Oil
  • Fresh Fenugreek leaves
  • Onion
  • Carom seeds
  • Salt
  • Baking soda
  • Yougurt
  • Ginger garlic paste
  • Green chilli
  • Turmeric
  • Gram flour
  • Oil
  • Cumin seeds
  • Black pepper
  • Cloves
  • Ginger
  • Red chilli
  • Hing
  • Fenugreek
  • Onion sliced
  • Salt
  • Red chilli powder

Instructions

  • To prepare kadhi, combine yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, green chilli, turmeric powder, gram flour and 1 cup water in a bowl and whisk well. Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and when it changes colour, add peppercorns, cloves, ginger, broken dried red chillies, asafoetida, fenugreek seeds and onion and sauté for 1 minute. Add the yogurt mixture and mix. Add 1 cup water, mix and cook on low heat till the mixture boils, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and set aside. To prepare pakodi, heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Mix together gram flour, fenugreek leaves, onion, carom seeds, salt and some water in a bowl to make a thick mixture. Add baking soda and mix well. Place the kadhi mixture back on heat. Add the pakodi and mix. Add salt and chilli powder,mix and cook for 1-2 minutes.
