Ingredients

  • Rice flour
  • Water
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Black channa
  • Onion
  • Tomato
  • Garlic
  • Chilly powder
  • Coriander powder
  • Turmeric powder
  • Garam masala
  • Curry leaves
  • Salt
  • Water 2 cup
  • Grated coconut

Instructions

  • Add the rice flour, salt ,sugar ,little Coconut and 1/4 cup water in a bowl and mix It. Put it in a puttu maker or Idli maker and steam it. puttu is ready
  • For Kadala curry , except grated coconut put the other ingredients like black channa, salt,water,all masalas, garlic in a pressure cooker and cook it for 6 whistles.
  • In the mean while grind half cup grated coconut into a fine paste
  • Add this paste to the cooked black channa and cook for 5 mins. Add tadka of oil,mustard ,curry leaves and little chopped onion to it. Curry is ready.

Notes/Tips

Either channa or black channa can be used. Steam the rice flour for 3 to 5 mins.
