Ragi ladoo (nachni ladoo / finger millet laddu) is a delicious treat made with ragi, walnuts, and jaggery. These healthy and nutritious ladoos are great for snacks and sweet cravings.

Ragi Walnut Ladoo

Ingredients

  • 1½ cup ragi flour
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts
  • 1tsp Cardamom powder
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup dessicated coconut
  • 1 cup jaggery
  • 1 tbsp dry ginger powder (optional)
  • 1/4 cup ghee

Instructions

  • Dry roast sesame seeds, walnuts and dessicated coconut and keep aside.
  • In the same pan add ghee. Once warm add ragi flour and roast the flour till the flour turns aromatic. Heat on a very low flame. This process takes 10-12 minutes.
  • Now mix the ragi flour, walnuts, sesame seeds and dessicated coconut. Add cardamom powder and dry ginger powder.
  • Take 1 tbsp water and melt Jaggery. Once melted strain it with seive and pour the jaggery water to the ragi flour mix. Mix everything well.
  • When the mixture is slightly cold (bearable to make ladoo) take a small amount in your palms and make a ladoo.. Repeat and make all the ladoos.
  • Store in an airtight container.

Notes/Tips

Make sure the ragi flour is freshly floured, or else it will taste little bitter in taste.
