Ingredients

  • 2 cups plain flour (sifted)
  • 1 tbs baking powder
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tin milkmaid
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract 1/2 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • Red, yellow liquid food colouring
  • purple liquid food colouring
  • green liquid food colouring
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

Instructions

  • Prehet oven to 175°C (160°C fan-forced). Line square cake tins n set aside.
  • To make the cake batter, place the melted butter,flour, milkmaid,baking soda, baking powder into a bowl. Using a mixer, beat in the milk, vanilla, butter until combined. Beat for 5 minutes.
  • Divide the mixture evenly between fourbowls. Using the food colouring, tint each bowl of mixture the colours of the rainbow
  • Bake for 20 minutes or until centre of cakes bounce back after being touched lightly. Remove from tins and cool on a wire rack until
