  • 1/2 cup While green gram soaked
  • 1/2 cup masoor dal soaked
  • Tuvar dal 1/2 cup soaked
  • 1/2 cup dhuli urad dal soaked
  • 1/2 cup chana dal soaked for 3 hours
  • Turmeric
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • Cumin
  • Cloves
  • Dried red chillies
  • Hing
  • Ginger garlic paste
  • Tomato
  • Cumin powder
  • Coriander powder
  • Red chilli powder
  • Garam masala powder
  • Coriander

Instructions

  • In a pressure cooker, add sabut moong, sabut masoor, tuvar dal, dhuli urad dal, and chana dal. Add turmeric powder and salt. Add enough water and pressure cook for 1-2 whistles. Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and sauté till it changes colour. Add cloves, break dried red chillies and add in the pan. Add asafoetida and ginger paste. Sauté well. Add tomato and sauté till it turns pulpy.Add cumin powder, coriander powder and red chilli powder. Add sufficient water and sauté till oil separates. 4. Add the cooked dal and sufficient water in the pan. Add garam masala powder, salt, coriander and mix well. Cook for 3-4 minutes on medium heat.

Serve hot with rice and chapathi
