Raw Jackfruit curry with prawn.

Ingredients

  • Raw jackfruit 500 gms
  • One big potato
  • Chopped onions 1 cup
  • Chopped tomatoes 1 cup
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 teaspoons
  • Mustard oil 1 cup
  • Ghee 2 tablespoons
  • Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder 2 teaspoons
  • Coriander powder 2 teaspoons
  • Kashmiri red chili powder 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon
  • Cardamom 3, bayleaf 2, cinnamon 2
  • Salt according to taste.
  • Medium prawns 400 gms

Instructions

  • Cut the jackfruit and potatoes into medium pieces. Wash and keep aside.
  • Clean prawns and rub with a pinch of salt, turmeric and red chili powder and keep them aside.
  • Now take a pan add 3 tablespoons of oil and fry prawns, until the colour becomes brown.
  • Now heat a kadhai with 4 tablespoons of oil and add jackfruit and potato pieces, fry until the colour becomes brown.
  • Now keep the fried potatoes and jackfruit pieces in another plate . Add rest of the oil and ghee into the kadhai and then add cardamom, cinnamon, bayleaf and when the masalas start crackling, add chopped onions and add half teaspoon of turmeric powder and salt. Fry until onion becomes translucent.
  • Then add ginger garlic paste and chopped tomatoes,mix well.Now add all the masalas and half cup of water. Stir well, cook on low flame for five minutes.
  • Now add fried jackfruit and potatoes into the kadai, mix well and add 3 cups of water. Cover with a lid and cook on low flame for 20 minutes. Stir in between.
  • Now add fried prawns into the kadhai. Poar another cup of water and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Raw jackfruit curry with prawns is ready.Serve hot with plain steamed rice.
