Raw Mango Rasam

  • raw mango 1
  • onion 1/2
  • 2 green chillies, 1 red chilly
  • mustard seeds, jeera ( each 1/2 tsp)
  • few curry leaves & coriander leaves
  • hing ( a little)
  • oil 2sp
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  • cut raw mango into small pieces after removing the skin.
  • boil the mango pieces till soft. make a fine paste in a blender.
  • heat 2 tsp oil in a thick bottomed kadai. make seasoning with mustard, jeera, curry leaves and hing.
  • add green and red chillies ( cut into halves).
  • mix in finely chopped onions and saute for 2 mins.
  • put mango paste and adjust the consistency by adding water.
  • finally salt and coriander leaves to be mixed.

Notes/Tips

do not choose either a ripe mango or a sour mango. medium one would be ideal.
