- The first step is to soak chana dal for 45 minutes and cook it until partially cooked. Do not make it completely soft. You can use pressure cooker for this
- Once dal is done add peeled and sliced raw banana into it.
- Add all the roasted spices, dry chillies, garlic and all the spices . Except onion and coriander leaves
- Again cook all the ingredients in the same pot with dal and with 1 or 2 whistles in the pressure cooker it will be done.
- There should be no moisture in the mixture when you grind it. It should be completely dry. Now cool the mixture and grind it to a smooth texture.
- Now add chopped coriander leaves and chopped onions and mix it well using a flat spatula. Use a little oil for binding
- You can add a little besan if you feel you're unable to handle it or the mixture is a bit runny.
- The mixture will be handy if you refrigerate it for 15-20 minutes
- Make tikkis of your desired shape. Freeze them for 5 minutes. Shallow fry carefully each side one time.
- Dont keep on turning over
- Enjoy with sliced onions and a dash of lemon.
- For extra spice love you can add chopped green chillies in the mixture.
- Totally a winner recipe, do try out. Completely vegan.
