  • Moong dal
  • Milk
  • Semolina
  • Salt
  • Ghee
  • Cumin
  • Pepper
  • Cashews
  • Curry leaves
  • Ginger
  • Hing

Instructions

  • Heat cooked moong dal in a non-stick deep-pan, add milk, ½ cup water and semolina to the pan. Mix well. Cook till thickens a little and add salt, mix well and cook till thickens Heat ghee in another pan and add cumin seeds, black peppercorns, cashews, curry leaves, ginger and asafoetida. Stir well. Remove 1 teaspoon tempering and set aside. Mix the remaining tempering in the prepared pongal. Serve hot garnished with the cashews. Separate1 tbsp of the prepared tempering & keep aside. Add the remaining tempering to the pongal Transfer to a serving bowl Garnish with tempering Serve.
