Ingredients

  • 1 + ½ cup maida, sifted
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup castor sugar
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup yogurt
  • 2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4-5 teaspoons red food colour
  • 1 + ¼ cup buttermilk

Instructions

  • Pre-heat the oven to 180*C and line cupcake pan
  • Ina large bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda together. Sift Dry Ingredients together
  • In a separate bowl, combine sugar and oil. Beat till pale yellow
  • Add yogurt, vanilla, red color and lemon juice and mix until everything is smooth. no lumps should be visible
  • Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients in three batches
  • Transfer the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-40 minutes

Notes/Tips

Buttercream 1 Cup room temperature butter. Mix till fluffy Add icing sugar to desired sweetness Beat till stiff peaks form Add milk if very thick
