Ingredients

  • 1 litre good quality milk
  • 1 tablespoon short grain scented rice,soaked in wa
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 tablespoon raisins
  • 1 bay leaf 🍃
  • 1/2 cup honey 🍯
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla custard powder
  • 1/2 cup more milk for custard making
  • 1/2 teaspoon jafran / saffron
  • Pinch salt

Instructions

  • Heat the milk, add bay leaf 🍃, Bring to the boiling point and simmer for twenty minutes or till the milk is ready. Add pinch of salt. Now add the soaked rice to the milk and boil in simmering position and cook to continue.
  • When rice is cooked add chopped nuts and few raisins and saute it constantly. Reserve few nuts and raisins for presentation.
  • In another side add custard powder in the reserved milk and give a good stir add saffron to the same milk and keep aside for few minutes.
  • Now add the saffron soaked milk to the rice kheer. Add honey and saute it constantly because at that time kheer may be burned.
  • When the kheer is thickened spread the excess dry fruits and nuts. Now it is ready Serve cool. Please try it
