- In a heave bottom pan, heat milk till it comes to a boil. Simmer the heat. Add cardamom and bay leaves.
- In low flame let the milk reduce till it becomes half. Keep on scraping the sides and bottom so that the milk doesn't burn.
- When the milk is reduced to half, add the rice. Keep on stirring in intervals. Add the Cashews and mix
- When the rice is completely cooked, add sugar and mix well.
- Add Raisins, rose essence, food color and dried rose petals and mix well.
- Remove from heat and let it cool before serving.
