- 1. On the gas stove, Roast cashews and raisin in the ghee until it become brown. 2. In a pressure cooker, add 1 cup of washed rice & ¼ cup of washed moong dal. 3. Add 2 cup of water (depends on your desired consistency). 4. Add 1 cup of milk for the good creamy flavor of our dish. 5. Close the lid for 10mins 6. After pressure settles down, open the lid & check it out. 7. Mash it with a spoon to get better form. 8. Add 1 cup of jaggery syrup (Depends on the flavor) 9. Add roasted cashews & raisin 10. Add 2 tsp of ghee and sprinkle cardamom powder for flavor. Our delicious sakkarai Pongal is ready. 11. Now serve it hot!!!
