  • ½ cup split Bengal gram (chana dal), soaked and dr
  • Oil
  • Cumin seeds
  • Cloves
  • Ginger
  • Green chillies
  • Onion
  • Tomaties
  • Egg plant
  • Potatoes
  • Red chilli powder
  • Turmeric powder
  • Coriander powder
  • Salt
  • Fresh dill leaves
  • Spinach
  • Indian sorrel(khatta bhaji) chopped

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and sauté for 30 seconds. Add garlic and ginger and sauté for 30 seconds. Add chillies and sauté for 30 seconds. Add onion and sauté for 3 minutes.Add tomatoes and sauté for 5 minutes. Add Bengal gram, eggplants and potatoes and stir. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt, mix well and sauté for 5 minutes. Add dill leaves, spinach and Indian sorrel, mix well and sauté for 2 minutes.Add ¾ cup water and simmer for 25-30 minutes or till the Bengal gram is cooked. Blend with a hand blender for 1-2 minutes. Serve hot.
