  • 2 cup maida,
  • 1/2 cup oil or ghee for shortening (quantity adjus
  • 1.5 cup sugar,
  • as required Oil for frying,
  • 1/2 tsp elaichi powder (optional),

Instructions

  • Take a mixing bowl, add maida & oil, mix it thoroughly. Check it, take some portion of the mix, make ladoo, if formed, no need to add more oil or ghee. If not then you can add some more oil or ghee accordingly.
  • Now add lukewarm water slowly slowly, knead a lil tight dough, cover it with the lid, rest it for 10 minutes. Brush some oil, knead it again, keep aside.
  • Now take med sized portion of the dough, roll it, make a ball.
  • Roll it, make a thick roti, cut it into small cubes, keep aside.
  • Now take a wok, add good amount of oil, heat it.
  • Lower the flame, drop the shakar Pare into the oil, deep fry them until light brown. Stir intermittently. Take out in a bowl, keep aside.
  • Take another wok, add 1/2 cup water & sugar, mix it well. Cook it until a lil thick (2 string). Add shakar Pare into it. You can add elaichi powder while making sugar syrup.
  • Stir it gently till sugar appears on the shakar Pare. Turn off the flame, allow it to cool down.
