Simple traditional sweet can be made easily and is economical

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rava
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • Pinch of salt, nutmeg, elaichi
  • Half cup wheat flour or maida
  • Ghee 1tsp cold for dough, 1tsp for filling
  • 1/4 th tsp vinegar
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 tbsp ghee for rava

Instructions

  • Roast rava over ghee till golden brown
  • Boil water, elaichi, nutmeg, salt and ghee
  • Add roasted rava to boiling water and keep stirring till it forms a ball and starts leaving sides. Filling is ready. Let it cool before using
  • Make dough using room temperature water. Mix vinegar and cold ghee to flour to make dough. Keep covered under moist kitchen towel for some time
  • Roll small roti place lemon size ball of filling seal edges and carefully flatten the roti. Deep fry in oil

Notes/Tips

Roast rava very properly to avoid raw taste
