Ingredients

  • Milk - 1 litre
  • Sugar - one cup
  • Basmati Rice - 4 teaspoons
  • Saffron
  • Almonds

Instructions

  • Wash the rice and keep it aside for 20 minutes.
  • Now take a vessel and pour the milk into it. Keep it on low flame and stir the milk.
  • Take a small bowl,pour some hot milk from the vessel into this bowl and then add saffron into it. Keep this bowl aside.
  • Now take the basmati rice, add half cup of water and grind this to make a fine paste.
  • Add the saffron mixed milk into the main vessel containing the lager quantity of milk. After 20 minutes, add the rice paste and mix well. Then after another 10 - 15 minutes, add the sugar and stir well.
  • Keep it on low flame and let it boil. When big bubbles start appearing, put off the gas. Firni is ready. Serve in small bowls and garnish it with almonds and saffron.
