- Preheat oven to 200C. Grease a larger baking tin. Beat egg whites and salt together until firm. Gradually add the caster sugar. Beat well until sugar has dissolved. Add beaten egg yolks, and beat for 2 minutes. Fold in sifted dry ingredients and pour into baking tins. Reduce oven temperature to 190C and bake for 20-25 minutes on the centre shelf. Coat cooled cake with icing sugar. Serve.
