A bengali sweet dish with strawberry

  • 100 gms Ricotta Cheese or Chena
  • 100 gms Strawberry (frozen or fresh)
  • 2 Tbsps Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Hershey's Strawberry syrup
  • 1 pinch Cardamom Powder
  • 2 Tbsps Milk Powder

Instructions

  • Make puree of frozen Strawberry, add it to the smashed Ricotta cheese or Chena,add sugar, strawberry syrup and Cardamom powder too and mash and mix it nicely into a smooth mixture with no lumps. You can even blend it in a mixer grinder jar.
  • One done put in a a non stick pan and put it on the flame and keep on stirring and cooking, after 5 mins or so add Milk powder and mix it well so that there are no lumps. Keep on stirring till it forms a lump doughy mass. It will take about 10 minutes, keep the flame low or medium low. Put it on a plate to cool.
  • Once it's luke warm or cooled completely, apply ghee on your palm and the wooden mould if you are using one, eyeball and divide it into equal parts and shape it round and place it on the mould and press it, you will get the impression of the mould on the sandesh, take it out gently and place on a plate (with parchment paper preferably). If you don't have a mould simply make a round ball press it flat and make a thumb impression on the centre of it. If you want garnish with Pistachio sliver.
