  • Basmati Rice
  • Ghee / Butter
  • Black cardamom
  • Bay leaves
  • Water
  • Paneer / cottage cheese
  • Cumin / jeera
  • Termaric
  • Curry leaves
  • Salt
  • Ginger garlic paste
  • Garam masala (Everest)
  • kashmiri red chilli powder
  • Green chili's
  • beans (chopped)
  • Green peas / chana
  • onion (sliced)
  • carrot (chopped)
  • capsicum (chopped)
  • tomato (chopped)
  • coriander (chopped))
  • lemon juice
  • Cabbage (chopped)

Instructions

  • firstly, in a large bowl soak 1 cup basmati rice for 20 min. Cook 2 cup basmati rice first in 8 cups of water to which some salt and 2 tsp. ghee are added. Add 1 black cardamom and 1/ 2 bay leaves also while cooking.The rice should be cooked well separate.
  • Let the rice cool completely. Add 2 tsp.ghee in tawa. Add paneer cubes and fry until light browned from all the sides. Remove them on a plate and keep aside.
  • now on a large Tawa heat 2 tsp butter saute 1 tsp cumin. now add 1 cup chopped large onion and saute. Add 1 tsp ginger garlic paste and saute.
  • keeping the flame on slow add, 2 chopped green chili's, 2 chopped carrots, 1 chopped capsicum, 1/2 cup chopped cabbage, 1/4 cup green peas, 5 chopped beans and fried paneer cubes also. Add ½ tsp salt.
  • stir-fry for 3 minutes or until vegetables are cooked slightly. now add 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes and saute until the tomato turn soft. add 2 tsp Garam masala and ¼ tsp Kashmiri chilli powder for colour. And mix it well.
  • now add in cooked rice and ¼ tsp salt. Mix gently without breaking the rice.add 1 tsp lemon juice. Decorate with 2 tbsp chopped coriander and serve tawa pulao with raita or papad.

Notes/Tips

Being a one pot dish its so easy and quick to make.we can serve it with a raita or roasted papad. You can add vegetables of your choice like broccoli, snow pea or corn.
