- Mix dal & rice , wash it , soak in water for 1 hour. strain it , keep aside .
- Take a pressure cooker , add oil , heat it .
- Add tejpatta and dry red chilli , saute it for a sec .
- Add hing , zeera , let it splutter .
- Now add onions , stir fry it until brown .
- Add veggies now , stir fry it for a min .
- Add khichdi mix now , stir fry it for 2 min .
- Now add ginger garlic paste , stir fry it until rawness is released .
- Add haldi powder and salt stir fry it for 1 min .
- Add garam masala powder , give a stir .
- Add 2 cup water ( can increase as per ur choice . this is a dry khichdi ) . Add sugar now .
- Place the lid , give 4 - 5 whistles .
- Switch off the flame , allow it to depressurise .
- Take out in a serving bowl or dish , have it with desi ghee , raita , salad or papad , achar .
