  • Vazhakkai
  • Besan
  • Rice flour
  • Turmeric
  • Red chilli powder
  • Baking soda
  • Hing
  • Ginger garlic paste
  • Salt
  • Oil

Instructions

  • Wash and peel off the skin of vazhakkai. Cut the edges and slice to thin pieces. Add them to water. In a mixing bowl, add rice flour, besan flour, salt, baking soda, ginger garlic paste, turmeric pwd, red chilli pwd and hing. Mix well. Add water little by little and mix to smooth paste. The batter should be thick & in smooth flowing consistency. Heat oil in pan. Dip the vazhakkai slices in batter and drop carefully in hot oil. Deep fry in medium flame, until the vazhakkai turns golden & crisp. Drain in kitchen tissue. Serve hot.
