  • Oats
  • Oil
  • Cumin seeds
  • Mustard seeds
  • Chana dal
  • Urad dal
  • Finely chopped curry leaves
  • Chopped green chillies
  • Asafoetida
  • Rava
  • Chopped carrots
  • Chopped coriander
  • Curd
  • Water
  • Salt
  • Baking soda

Instructions

  • Grind the oats into a fine powder and set aside.
  • Next, take a pan and add oil, cumin seeds mustard seeds, chana dal & urad dal. Sauté it till the seeds crackle and both the dals turn a little golden.
  • Then, add curry leaves, green chillies & asafoetida and stir for a minute.
  • After that, add rava and roast it on a low flame for 2 minutes.
  • Then add the oats powder and roast it by stirring it for 4-5 minutes.
  • When it is roasted well, transfer it into a bowl and let it cool down.
  • Next, add carrots, coriander, yogurt & water and mix well. Cover it and allow it to rest for 5 minutes.
  • Now add the salt & baking soda into this batter and combine it well.
  • Pour this batter into the greased idli moulds and steam it until they are doen, for about 10-12 minutes.
  • Once done well, remove the idlis and serve them.
