Puli is a traditional Bengali delicacy. Walnut is very tasty and nutritious to eat. Winter means that a variety of sweets are made in Bengali home. Today I will combine this walnut and puli in my recipe.

Walnut Tri Colour Puli

Ingredients

  • 100 gm Walnut
  • 200 ml Milk
  • 75 gm Khoya/Mawa
  • 1/3 Cup Sugar
  • 1.5 Cup Rice Flour
  • 6 Cup Water
  • 2 to 3 drops Orange food colour
  • 2 to 3 drops Green food colour
  • 4 Table Spoon Ghee
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Cardamom Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  • Grind walnuts with a grinder (There will be a little grain, not very fine).
  • In a Pan add Ghee
  • Add Walnut and fry well on medium heat for about 5 minutes.
  • After five minutes add khoya/Mawa and mix well
  • Add Cardamom powder at this time.
  • Boil 1 cup water in a pan. This time add 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • When the water boils, Add Rice Flour and stir it a little and keep it covered for about 5 minutes.
  • Then take a small lemon size ball and make a bowl with the help of its fingers by pressing it.
  • In the meantime, it should be closed with a spoonful of walnut mixture.
  • Then you have to turn from one edge to the other.
  • One Puli will be around 4 inches long.
  • In this way the rest has to be done.
  • Then place the puli one by one.
  • Simmer over low heat for 5 to 6 minutes.
  • Final Product

Notes/Tips

You can use Samolina replacing Walnut .
