  • Vermicilli
  • Sugar
  • Ghee
  • Cashew
  • Raisins
  • Almonds
  • Water
  • Cardamom

Instructions

  • Firstly, heat a pan and 2 tbsp Ghee to it. Once the ghee melts, then add chopped 5-6 cashew nuts and 8-10 almonds to it. Roast them on low flame till they turn golden brown. Next add 1 tbsp raisins to it and roast for few seconds. .In the same pan with remaining ghee add 1 cup Vermicelli. Roast them on low flame, with frequent stirrings, until the semiya turns golden brown in colour. Keep the roasted Vermicelli aside. In the same pan add 1.5 cups of water and 2 green whole cardamom. Bring the water to boil on medium to high flame. Then add roasted Vermicelli, stir well and turn the flame to low. Cover and cook for 8-10 minutes on low flame. After 10 minutes, Seviyan has absorb all the water and semiya has cooked completely. Now add roasted nuts and 1/2 cup sugar to it. Mix well, till all the sugar dissolves. Turn off the flame. And cover it with kitchen cloth and close the lid tightly for 10-15 minutes, so that seviyan absorbs all sugar water. Delicious Sweet Vermicelli is ready to serve.
