Ingredients

  • 200 gm Yam or Elephant's Foot
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Chat Masala
  • as needed Oil for frying

Instructions

  • Wash Yam thoroughly until it's clean of all the dirt and the sand particles. Chop off the skin. Apply a bit of cooking Oil to your hands before doing so or better still, wear kitchen gloves like me if you are used to using them. Otherwise apply a little Oil to your hands. The reason behind this is the itchiness caused due to it. It's always better to be cautious.
  • Using a slicer, slice it thinly. Keep them immersed in Salted water until the Oil gets heated up. Deep fry these Chips in enough hot Oil on a medium to high heat. These get done very quickly. So keep an eye on them. Drain on an absorbent paper.
  • Sprinkle with Chat Masala or even some Red Chilli powder for that extra punch. Yum! Enjoy!
