Ingredients

  • Flour 1 1/2 cup
  • Water 3/4 cup
  • Oil 2 tsp
  • Salt A Pinch
  • Dry fruits (Cashew, Almond, pistachio) 1 1/2 cup
  • Cinemon pd 1/2 tsp
  • Ghee 2/3 cup
  • Corn flour For dusting
  • Orange peel 1 pc
  • Clove 3-4 pc
  • Pepper corns 4-5 pc
  • Cinemon Stick 1 pc
  • Ginger 2inch knob
  • Vanilla extract 1/4 tsp
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Water 3/4 cup

Instructions

  • Mix flour, water, salt, oil.
  • Kneed and form a soft dough. Rest it for 2-3 hr at room temperature.
  • Divide the dough in 15g balls and rest for another 10min
  • Roll the dough as thin as possible and apply cornflower to prevent it from sticking. Do that with all the dough balls
  • Chop the dry fruits and mix the cinemon power.
  • In a 8inch baking pan Star layering the rolled dough, dry fruit mix, and ghee in the following order
  • Layers: 6 sheets of Philo dough + A layer of nuts + 2 sheets of Philo dough A layer of nuts + 2 sheets of Philo dough A layer of nuts + 7 sheet of Philo dough *remember to apply ghee every time before placing a new sheet of Philo.
  • Place it in the freezer to freeze
  • With a sharp knife cut the baklava inside the pan in diamond shape
  • Bake the baklava @180°c for 30-35 min
  • While it will bake make the sugar syrup in a pan add sugar, water, vanilla, and rest of the spices in a cheese cloth. And heat it till it starts to boil.
  • As soon as the baklava comes out of the oven pour the hot Syrup over it and let it rest till it comes to Room temperature.
  • Sprinkle some chopped dry fruits and serve.
