Ingredients

  • Fresh hibiscus flowers 5-6
  • Boiling Water 2 cup
  • Ginger juice 2 tbsp
  • Lemon juice 2 tbsp
  • Honey 4 tbsp
  • Mint leaves For garnish
  • Ice cubes 5-6

Instructions

  • Carefully remove petals fom the flowers.Do not take the green or yellow part of the flower.
  • Wash these petals thoroughly.Put in a heat proof glass jar or container. Pour boiling water over them.Cover and let them steep in it for about 30 minutes.
  • Now strain the water.It will be purplish magenta in colour.Let it cool.
  • Once cooled,add ginger juice,lemon juice and honey in it and mix well.You may need to adjust these quantities as per your taste.Now the colour will change to hot pink or reddish.
  • In a tall glass,add some ice cubes.Pour this drink over them.Garnish with mint leaves and serve chilled.

Notes/Tips

One of the most liked drink inbtropical areas,this easy to make drink can be made using dry hibiscus flowers also. To get darker colour,you can boil the petals instead of steeping in water. This can be taken hot as well as cold. This tea has many medicinal properties .
