Schezwan Chilli Cheese Toast

  • Bread Slices 6
  • Mozarrela Cheese 200 g
  • Green Chilli 2
  • Onion 1
  • Coriander 3 tbsp
  • Salt And Pepper to taste
  • egg yolk 1-1.5
  • Butter To toast the bread

Instructions

  • Grate the cheese in a bowl. Add chopped onion, coriander, green chilli and schezwan sauce. Give it a good mix.
  • Add the egg yolk to the mixture and keep aside.
  • Preheat your oven to 210 C. Toast the bread slices on pan or toaster till crunchy on both sides and then apply butter.
  • Apply the cheese mixture on one side of each slice and bake at 210 C for 10-12 mins or until the cheese has melted and cooked.

Notes/Tips

You can add a blend of different cheese, just mozarrela is not necessary. Adding egg yolks is not necessary but it gives a really nice texture to the toast. If you want to make it completely vegetarian you can avoid adding the yolk and add 1 tbsp milk instead. If you want your chilli cheese toast to be super crunchy, you can bake it with both the oven rods and fan on. If you like it slightly soft on the lower side, bake it with upper rod and fan on. The latter one is my personal choice.
