  • Rice 1 Cup
  • Sugar 1 Cup
  • Green Cardamom 4-5
  • Cloves 6-7
  • Star Anise 2-3
  • Ghee 2 Tbsp
  • Chopped Almond 9-10
  • Cashew 8-9
  • Raisins 3 Tbsp
  • Saffron 2 Pinch
  • Orange Food Color 1 Pinch
  • Rose Water 1 Tbsp
  • Water 2-4 Tbsp

Instructions

  • Gently wash the rice and soak in water for 30 Mins. Strain and keep aside. Heat 4-5 cups water in a pan. When it comes to a boil, add the soaked rice. Cook till the rice is done.
  • Mix water, rose water, food color and saffron in a small bowl.
  • Heat the ghee in a pan. Add almonds, cashew nuts, and raisins and fry till golden brown. Add cardamom, star anise and cloves and fry for a few seconds.
  • Now add the rice and mix gently. Now add the sugar and food color and saffron mixture. And Again mix gently.
  • Cover and cook on low heat for 10-12 minutes. Serve hot and Enjoy Shahi Jarda.

Notes/Tips

Before adding sugar ensure that rice is cooked properly. As the rice will not cook if sugar is added before. Red o
