Ingredients

  • Maida 200 gms
  • Butter 100 gms
  • Sugar 200 gms
  • Milk 1 cup
  • Baking powder 2 tsp
  • Baking soda 1 tsp
  • Eggs 2 nos
  • Vanilla essence 1 tsp (optional)
  • Whipping cream 400ml
  • Royal icing 200 gms

Instructions

  • Mix all the dry ingredients
  • Cream the butter and sugar.
  • Add eggs 1 at a time. Add vanilla essence.
  • In a bowl mix maida, baking powder, baking soda and keep aside.
  • Add half of the dry ingredients to the egg mixture along with half milk. Mix the batter.
  • Add the remaining half of dry ingredients and milk. Do not over mix.
  • Preheat oven at 180 degrees for 10mins.
  • Pour mixture in a 8" cake tin lined with parchment paper and bake for 30 minutes. Or till a toothpick inserted comes clean.
  • Cool the cake after baking and add your favourite frosting of whipped cream and decorations.
  • Make flowers with royal icing

This cake was baked for my mom for her birthday.
