Ingredients

  • Kidney beans 1 cup
  • Turnips 3 units
  • Oil 5 tablespoons
  • Kashmiri Red chilli powder 1 teaspoons
  • Coriander powder 1 teaspoons
  • Dry ginger powder/ ginger piece Half teaspoons
  • Black pepper powder Half teaspoons
  • Said/ fennel seed powder 1 teaspoons

Instructions

  • Soak the Kidney beans(Rajma) overnight
  • Remove water from the kidney beans nest morning. And wash thoroughly
  • Add Rajma to pressure cook along with 4 cups of water
  • Let it cook for around 3-4 whistles on low flame.
  • Turn off the stove and let the pressure being released from the cooker
  • Now check if the bean is tender. If not pressure cook again till tender
  • Add oil to the kadai and fry turnips till slightly brown
  • Add all the dry masalas and cook for 5 minutes
  • Now add the turnip masala to the boiled rajma and pressure cook for one whistle
  • Turn off the stove and let pressure being released from the cooker
  • Dish out and relish with white rice or jeera rice

Notes/Tips

Few kidney beans take longer time to cook. So Whistle your Rajma as per your requirement
