Ingredients

  • Wood Apple 2 Small
  • Jaggery Powder 3 tbsp
  • Green Cardamom 3
  • Chilled Water 350 ml
  • Ice-cubes 8 to 10

Instructions

  • The wood apple has to be ripe. It's easy to find if it is ripe. Scratch the wood apple skin with your fingernails if the color turns out to be brown then it's ripe and if it turns out to be green then it needs time to ripe. So, use only ripe fruit.
  • With a help of a rolling pin break the fruit into 2 halves by keeping it on the ground. And scrape it neatly and take the pulp out. Scrape the inner shell well for earthern flavors.
  • Add the pulp, jaggery powder/grated jaggery, cardamom pods, chilled water, and ice cubes to the jar and blend well.
  • If the consistency is very thick then add a little more water and blend. Strain it with the help of a strainer and top it with some chopped mint leaves
  • The chilled Wood Apple Squash is done.

Notes/Tips

Never break the wood apple by holding it in hand Consume the squash before or after 30 min of having food If the fruit isn't heavy that means the wood apple is rotten from inside.
