An authentic Gujarati sweet Meetha Saata or Thor from Kutch region is a deep fried eggless pastry dipped in a thick sugar glaze. This glaze hardens to form a scrumptious white sugary crust which provides a wonderful texture when bitten into. Saata is one of the simplest Gujarati sweets and one of the oldest. It is usually offered to Lord Krishna on the Hindu new years day.
